Navigating through the middle of the center of nowhere.

Perched precariously on the tip of the top of a mountain.

On the very edge of the earth. Of humanity.

   In Judea.

I discovered a flag. Bearing a six-point star.

Torn. Tattered. Tired. But still standing.

The Shield of David.

Waving like the sapphire seas splashing on Israel’s coastal cities.

   Constantly.

I no longer felt as if I was headed somewhere. Only that I had arrived.

Because there was just one path left to take.

There was just one place left to go.

Here was homeward.
